CLEANER WON'T TURN ON

The vacuum cleaner is not turning on due to electrical supply issues. Ensure the unit is firmly plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check for any blown fuses or tripped breakers in your home and replace or reset them as necessary. Turn the power switch on the vacuum cleaner to the 'ON' position.

CLEANER WON'T PICK UP

The vacuum cleaner is not effectively picking up debris from the floor. Check and replace worn agitator brush rolls if needed. Ensure the dirt cup is not full and empty it if required. Adjust the carpet height setting to the appropriate level. Clear any clogs in the HEPA cartridge filter and the pre-filter.

ABNORMAL SOUND

The vacuum cleaner is making unusual or strange sounds during operation. Ensure the unit is plugged in firmly. Check for blockages in the hose or air passages and clear them. Verify that the dirt cup and filter assembly are properly installed.

Intended Use

The Samsung SU-8500 Series Vacuum Cleaner is designed for household use only. It is essential to use the device as described and with the manufacturer's recommended attachments.

Power and Brush Roll Switch

The vacuum features a power switch and a brush roll switch. The brush rolls automatically turn off when the handle is in the upright position to prevent damage and ensure safety.

Attachments and Tools

Comes with various tools including a powered hand tool (Turbine Brush) for upholstered furniture and hard-to-reach places, an upholstery brush for draperies and mattresses, and a crevice tool for narrow spaces.

Cord Management

The power cord should be wrapped around the designed hooks for storage. Use the cord clip for easier handling while vacuuming, and always unplug by grasping the plug, not the cord.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular maintenance includes emptying the dirt cup, cleaning filters, checking for clogs, and ensuring the drive belt is in good condition. Replace the drive belt if worn out and ensure brush cover screws are tightened securely.

Safety Instructions

Key precautions include unplugging the vacuum when not in use or before servicing, avoiding outdoor or wet surface use, and supervising children when near the device. Ensure the vacuum is stored in a cool, dry area.

Maintenance Indicators

The vacuum is equipped with a Dirt Cup check indicator displaying green when not full or clogged, and red when it needs emptying or cleaning. The HEPA media post-motor filter should be cleaned regularly for optimal performance.

Height Adjustment

The powerfoot of the vacuum can be adjusted to clean multiple floor surfaces. It is recommended to set it to the lowest practical setting for optimal cleaning performance.

Circuit Breaker for Brush Roll

In case the brush roll stops, check for obstructions, reset the circuit breaker switch, and turn the cleaner back on.

Clog Management

If suction is weak or the motor sound changes, check for clogs in the hose, wand, or base. Unplug the vacuum before inspecting and clearing any obstructions.

Maintenance

Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Samsung Vacuum Cleaner.

Regularly Empty the Dirt Cup

Ensure to empty the dirt cup frequently when the indicator turns red. This indicates that the dirt cup is full or the filter is clogged. To maintain optimal performance, always empty the dirt cup before it reaches full capacity.

Check and Clean Filters

Regularly check the HEPA media post-motor filter and the pre-filter for clogs or buildup. Clean or replace them as needed. Operating the vacuum with dirty or clogged filters can reduce suction power and machine efficiency.

Inspect the Drive Belt and Rotating Brush

Periodically check the drive belt for wear or damage and ensure the rotating floor brush is free from hair, strings, and carpet fibers. Replace the belt if worn and clean the brush regularly to maintain optimal performance.

Avoid Obstructions in Air Passageway

Check the air passageway regularly for any obstructions and remove debris as necessary. Clear the hose, tube, or nozzle if you notice reduced suction or a change in motor sound.

Proper Storage

Store the vacuum cleaner indoors in a cool and dry area. Ensure the power cord is properly looped and clipped, and keep the vacuum in the upright position when not in use to avoid accidental damage.
